1. Book Binding
I've been meaning to try this for a while. I'm starting to journal my weird dreams so I'd like to make a cute little dream journal to keep by my bed. These would make great gifts for your friends and they look mega fun to make. I'm thinking about making one with a felt narwhal on the cover. What's great about his craft is that there are so many options and different materials you can use. Forget buying expensive journals when you can just make your own for twice the adorbs.
2. Butterfly Wall Mural
I got the idea for a wall mural from this blog post. You just get the Martha Stewart butterfly punch (available at Michaels for around $10) and punch out several butterflies from sheets of pretty paper. Instead of putting them in a frame, I wanted to do a sweeping mural in my living room above the couch. Most awesome mural ever! I like three dimensional murals. They make me feel fancy.
3. Embroidery
Embroidery is not for old ladies, ok? There are all kinds of awesome patterns to choose from. I think it would be cool to use Disney coloring book pages as patterns for embroidery. I'd love to have Princess Jasmine embroidered on something. You could even use your embroidery for your book binding project. Huh? Genius I know. Embroidery is a great way to embellish plain stuff like pillows, or t-shirts, or even that frame that you haven't gotten around to using yet. Go on girl, decorate. Get some. This blog has some awesome vintage embroidery patterns to get you started.
There you have it! Those are my top crafts to try over Christmas break. They are great ideas for last minute presents too! Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest!
