A Year Later...

IMG_2626

My wonderful hubby and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! This past year has been pretty crazy for us. We had a lot of obstacles that we had to conquer together, but in the last month our lives completely turned around. So, our anniversary was especially sweet after going through those trials and coming out on the other side. Here is a little taste of our anniversary celebration!

pancakes

We made some delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Spencer is a master pancake flipper after years and years of camp outs and Eagle Scout-ing. They were sooo goood!

record

Then we spent the afternoon chilling around the house and listening to Florence + the Machine on vinyl. This is probably one of my favorite records that we own. The music just fills up our little home and makes me very happy.

puppup

Pup pup and Not Dad took a nap together. They are the cutest. It took Spencer a while to warm up to Indiana, but now he's totally smitten. I know I probably shouldn't let her sleep on the bed with us, but she just loves to be the little spoon.

We got dinner at our favorite Thai place and ate ourselves into a coma. I LOVE thai food and I hadn't had it in a while so I pretty much ate as if it was the last helping of thai that I was ever going to have. Which was really dumb because we had leftovers. I love this little hole-in-the-wall place so much!

Spencer took me to see The Fault In Our Stars and it was everything that I was hoping that it would be. We were both crying through it and squeezing each other's hands for dear life. It was so amazing to see a story that I fell in love with a few years ago come to life on screen. I remember when Hazel was talking to Augustus about being loved widely or being loved well. Spencer loves me very deeply and very well and I am very lucky for it. After the movie we went on a midnight walk with pup pup and had some iced coffee with Kahlua. We had such a nice relaxing day and we are so grateful for our first year together.

  2. Congratulations on your one year anniversary. The first year does have its trying times. But after that you grow closer and you know you have your best friend for life by your side. Found your blog via the @FemaleBloggerRT, just thought I'd stop by and I remembered my first year was like yours as well. Good Luck
